How AngazaCash Financial Literacy Program is helping shape Kenya’s next generation of financially confident young people
Long before young people earn their first salary, they begin forming the habits and attitudes that shape how they save, spend and plan. Yet for many students, formal financial education is still limited, leaving them to navigate an increasingly complex financial world without the practical knowledge they need.
Investing in Financial Literacy
At Jubilee Asset Management Limited, we believe financial literacy is one of the most important investments we can make in the next generation. That belief is at the heart of the AngazaCash Financial Literacy Program, our mentorship initiative designed to equip high school students across Kenya with practical financial knowledge and encourage a culture of saving and investing from an early age.
More than a corporate social responsibility initiative, AngazaCash reflects our broader vision of helping individuals overcome uncertainty, achieve financial freedom and prepare confidently for the future. By reaching students early, we are helping to build the foundation for stronger households, more resilient communities and long-term economic growth.
The name AngazaCash is inspired by the idea of illuminating or shining a light. It reflects the programme’s purpose: to help young people better understand money, make informed financial decisions and see the opportunities that sound financial planning can create.
Fully sponsored by Jubilee Asset Management Limited and delivered in partnership with Igniting Gems Mentorship, a youth-focused organisation with experience in outreach, training, research and community engagement, the programme combines financial expertise with mentorship-led learning. Together, we create practical and engaging experiences that make financial education accessible, relevant and meaningful for students.
Rather than focusing only on theory, AngazaCash financial literacy program encourages students to think about their personal goals, understand the value of disciplined saving, and appreciate how investing can contribute to long-term financial security. Through interactive sessions, students are introduced to key concepts such as budgeting, financial planning, responsible money management and the importance of making informed choices early in life.
Closing The Gap on Financial Education
Since its launch during Global Money Week in March 2026, the AngazaCash Financial Literacy Programme has reached 1,624 students in schools across Nairobi and Kiambu counties. This early reach reflects the growing demand for practical financial education that complements classroom learning and prepares students for life beyond school.
In 2026, the program is targeting a total of nine schools, with a longer-term goal of impacting 10,000 students by the end of 2027 as it expands to additional regions across Kenya.
What makes AngazaCash especially important is its focus on confidence. Financial literacy is not only about understanding concepts it is about giving young people the tools and mindset to make better decisions, but plan also ahead and take greater control of their futures.
At Jubilee Asset Management, we remain committed to investing in more than portfolios. Through AngazaCash financial literacy program, we are investing in knowledge, confidence and opportunity for the next generation. By helping young people build strong financial foundations today, we are contributing to a more financially informed and empowered Kenya tomorrow.
