Mr. Grace Jethro Kavuma

Director

Mr. Kavuma is a seasoned accountant with vast experience having worked in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, West Africa and the UK. He was appointed to the Board in 2018. He holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Makerere University and a Masters in Finance from Washington International University. Mr. Kavuma has worked in various sectors including Oil & Gas, Banking and Audit. He is also a board member in a number of institutions in Uganda. Mr. Kavuma is the Chairman of the Board Audit and Compliance Committee.

Mrs. Shaherose Jamal

Director

Shaherose joined the Jubilee Life Insurance Company Uganda Limited Board in 2014.

She qualified as a Solicitor in U.K and has two undergraduate degrees, in Law and also in Economics and Social sciences; and she completed her Legal Practice course from College of Law, Guilford, UK in 1994. After completing her professional training, she gained extensive experience in legal practice and her areas of expertise include Litigation, Employment law and Company law.

Shaherose brings diverse international perspective and insight to her work. With her multi disciplinary background, she has advised in private and family-owned businesses across a variety of industries.

At JLICU, she chairs the Board Remuneration and Human Resource Committee and is also a member of Board Risk and Compliance Committee and Board Audit Committee. Shaherose is also a dedicated advocate for sustainability, and environment.

Shaherose is a committed volunteer and has been a member of the leadership of the Ismaili Muslim community both in Uganda and the UK for the past 28 years and has served in various Institutional and religious committees.

Mr. John Metcalf Joseph

Director

Mr. Metcalf was appointed to the Board in 2006. He has extensive international experience in the insurance industry and is currently the Head of Insurance for the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED).He is a Director on the Boards of the Company’s insurance subsidiaries. Before joining the Company, he was the Executive Chairman of the Allianz Group Insurance subsidiaries in Egypt.Mr. Metcalf is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and holds a BA (Hons) in Banking Insurance & Finance from Sheffield Hallam University. Mr. Metcalf is a member of the Board Finance Committee, Board Audit & Compliance Committee, Board Nominating & HR committee and Board IT Committee.

Mr. Varghese Thambi

Director

Mr. Varghese Thambi is a seasoned Banker with over 47 years of experience in the Banking sector, both in India and Uganda. He was the Managing Director/CEO of Diamond Trust Bank Uganda from June 2007 to June 2024. Currently, he is the Director- Advisory with Grant Thornton Uganda.

Mr. Thambi was instrumental in setting up Bancassurance business in India’s IndusInd Bank in 2006 and later in DTB Uganda in 2017. Mr Thambi is a Graduate in Physics from University of Calicut, India and Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Laws from the National University of Law, Hyderabad. He is a Hon. Fellow of the Uganda Banking & Financial Services. He is also a Board member of Financial Technologies Services Providers’ Association Uganda (FITSPA)

Ms. Mary Kansiime Nyende

Director

Dr. Kansiime Mary Nyende is the Director Professional Development at the Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial services (UIBFS) from January 2024 to date, a directorate charged with delivering the institute’s Professional Development and Training strategy. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration and Management; specializing in financial management, Master of Management, and Post Graduate Diploma in project planning & management of Uganda Management Institute, Kampala.  She also holds a Bachelors in Adult and Community Education of Makerere University.

Mary is a dynamic executive and seasoned banker with over 15 years of expertise in risk and financial management, Wealth management, investment advisory, strategy development, research, consultancy and Financial inclusion.

Prior to joining UIBFS, she worked with dfcu bank for 9 years, where she held various senior positions including Head Pinnacle Banking, Head Transactional Banking and Head of sales, and contributed to the bank’s successful business growth and retention. She also worked with Housing Finance Bank for 5years in capacity of Ag. Head Corporate Banking, senior relationship Manager, and positively impacted the Bank’s growth.

Mary is the secretary of the Uganda Leasing Association, Director TAMKA investments Ltd and a Director at Mt. Seeta Junior School. She prides herself in nurturing young talent through mentoring and is fuelled by seeing those regarded as disadvantaged excel in both their personal and professional lives.

Mr. William Sekabembe Nkemba

Director

William Sekabembe is a seasoned corporate executive with over 24 years of experience in the banking sector, specializing in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, business strategy, customer experience, channel development, risk management, and organizational redesign. Sekabembe has a proven track record of driving successful business transformations and optimizing revenue growth through strategic leadership and innovative product development.

Throughout his career, William has held key leadership positions in prominent financial institutions such as DFCU Bank, Stanbic Bank Uganda Ltd, and ABSA Uganda where he spearheaded various initiatives to enhance customer engagement, expand market presence, and drive business performance. Noteworthy achievements include leading DFCU Bank into the top 5 banks in Uganda.

Additionally, Sekabembe holds advanced degrees in Business Administration and Economic Policy and Planning from renowned institutions like the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) and Makerere University, further solidifying his expertise in strategic management and financial leadership. He is also actively involved in board memberships and professional associations, demonstrating his commitment to industry excellence and community development.

Ms. Njeri Jomo Beth

Director

Appointed in 2022, Njeri Jomo is the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer of Jubilee Health Insurance, bringing over 20 years of experience in insurance, strategy execution, and business transformation. She is a highly skilled leader in health financing, digital innovation, risk management, and distribution strategy, driving growth, operational excellence, and access to quality healthcare solutions.

She serves on the Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI) Board, the General Insurance Council, and the Strategy & Legal Affairs Committee. She is also a Board Member of Jubilee Health Insurance Uganda and Tanzania, contributing to finance, risk, and audit oversight as a member of the Board Finance & Investment Committee (BFIC), Board Audit Committee (BAC), and Board Risk & Compliance Committee (BRCC).

Njeri holds an Executive MBA from USIU Africa and Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing). She is a Fellow and Associate of the Life Management Institute (FLMI, ALMI) and holds a Diploma in Insurance, an Award in Bancassurance (CII, London), and a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in Life & General Insurance. She is a Certified Corporate Governance Professional from the Women on Boards Network (WOBN), with expertise in board leadership, governance structures, and fiduciary duties.

A recognized industry expert, Njeri is an Associate Member of the Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK) and a Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), UK.

Dan Musiime

Chief Executive & Principal Officer

Dan Musiime is the CEO of Jubilee Health Insurance Company of Uganda Limited. Dan is an insurance professional with 15+ years of senior leadership experience. Some of Dan’s major strengths include a deep understanding of the insurance industry, excellent communication, and team player, being a goal-oriented executive with a proven track record to achieve desired results, and strong decision-making skills.

Dan is an Advocate holding a Bachelor of Laws Degree (MUK) and a Diploma in Legal Practice (LDC). He also possesses an MBA (ESAMI) and is a Chartered Insurer with an Advanced Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK). He is an Executive Committee Member of the Uganda Insurers Association and Chairman of the Medical Committee. Dan is passionate about teaching and has been a part-time lecturer at the Insurance Training College (ITC) for many years.

Dr. Amon Salaama

Chief Operations Officer

With over 9 years of experience in the medical insurance industry, Dr. Amon Salaama possesses extensive knowledge and skills in analytical techniques, medical claims, and underwriting. With excellent communication and analytical abilities, he excels in technical documentation, presentation, and cross-functional team coordination. Dr. Salaama currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer at Jubilee Health Insurance Uganda.

His previous roles as a Medical Claims Manager and Team Leader in Medical Services demonstrate his proficiency in claims review, client sensitization, and service provider management, while earlier experiences as a Medical Officer provided him with hands-on expertise in clinical medicine, surgical procedures, and strategic planning for clinic growth.

John Katende

Chief Distribution Officer (CDO)

John Katende is a seasoned insurance professional with over 13 years of experience in sales, distribution, and customer relationship management. As the Chief Distribution Officer at Jubilee Health Insurance Uganda, John leads the company’s efforts to expand its market reach, enhance customer engagement, and deliver innovative insurance solutions.

John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting) from Makerere University. With a strong track record of driving sales growth and fostering strategic partnerships, he is passionate about making quality healthcare accessible to all Ugandans.

Justine Andrea Nansubuga

Manager Marketing, Communication and Customer Experience

Bringing nearly a decade of experience in marketing and communications, Justine Andrea Nansubuga is a intuitive leader in driving brand growth and creating impactful customer experiences. As Manager of Marketing, Communications & Customer Experience at Jubilee Health Insurance Uganda, she spearheads innovative strategies that amplify brand visibility, build trust, and foster customer loyalty.

Dorcus Kuhimbisa

Chief Operations Officer

Dorcus Kuhimbisa is a dynamic insurance executive with over a decade of experience in operations, risk management, business transformation, and strategic leadership. As the Chief Operations Officer at Jubilee Life – Uganda, she plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s vision, overseeing cross-functional teams, and ensuring strict adherence to regulatory frameworks and corporate governance. Her leadership drives business process improvements, product innovation, and market expansion to unlock new growth opportunities.

Firmly believing that “excellence in insurance operations is built on precision, strategy, and a customer-centric approach,” Dorcus is a graduate of the Senior Leadership Program at Strathmore University. She possesses advanced skills in executive decision-making, strategic resource planning, and transformational leadership, with expertise spanning life insurance administration, reinsurance management, product development, digital transformation, change management, and regulatory compliance.

Previously, as Deputy Chief Operations Officer at Prudential Assurance Uganda Ltd, Dorcus played a critical role in enhancing operational efficiency, developing innovative business strategies, and creating customer-centric solutions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from Makerere University and a Diploma in Insurance from the Insurance Training College, complemented by specialized training in life underwriting, product pricing, AML compliance, reinsurance management, and supply chain management from leading industry organizations.

A people-oriented leader, Dorcus is dedicated to building and nurturing highly motivated teams in a supportive, collaborative environment. She is passionate about mentoring future leaders, leveraging technology to advance the insurance sector, and promoting financial inclusivity.

Linda Byaruhanga

Chief Distribution Officer

Linda Byaruhanga is a transformational leader in financial services with over 15 years of experience in bancassurance, business development, banking operations, and stakeholder management. As a visionary strategist, she has played a crucial role in building, expanding, and optimizing business channels that drive revenue growth, operational efficiency, and long-term partnerships. She believes that “sustainable business growth is built on strategic partnerships, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.”

As the Chief of Distribution at Jubilee Life Insurance, Linda has transformed bancassurance from a startup operation into a market-leading business channel. Her leadership has been essential in structuring impactful bank partnerships, expanding revenue streams, and developing a high-performing team. Through her strategic initiatives, she successfully secured over 14 key bancassurance partnerships within three years, enhancing Jubilee Life Insurance’s competitive position in the industry.

Her expertise encompasses business planning, financial product development, strategic stakeholder engagement, and team leadership. Linda has been instrumental in designing competitive bancassurance models, structuring compensation and incentive plans, and ensuring seamless partner relationship management.

She holds a master’s degree in business administration from Liverpool John Moores University, a bachelor’s degree in Community Psychology from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management from the Uganda Management Institute, and an Award in Bancassurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute. Currently, she is pursuing a diploma in Insurance at the Insurance Training College while further enhancing her expertise in financial strategy and corporate growth.

Allen Amoko

Head of Corporate Business

Allen Amoko is an accomplished risk management and personal development advisor with over 15 years of experience in financial services and corporate strategy. As the Head of Corporate Business at Jubilee Life Insurance, she drives financial planning, wealth management, and corporate risk mitigation strategies that empower both businesses and individuals to achieve financial security and sustainable growth.

Her expertise spans financial management, communication, people development, and retirement planning. Allen has successfully led numerous organizations in executing financial and risk management projects, leveraging her industry knowledge in quantitative analysis, budgeting, and performance optimization. She advises businesses on asset management and retirement benefits, emphasizing long-term sustainability.

A Certified Senior Trainer with Coach Africa and a Certified Financial Coach with Straight Forward Financial Growth, Allen equips professionals with essential financial literacy and leadership skills. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Makerere University and has earned various professional certifications in financial planning and risk management. Her workshop experience includes sessions for organizations such as the Capital Markets Authority, Makerere University Business School, and NTV Uganda, focusing on financial planning and employee financial well-being.

Linas T. Batya

Chief Agency Officer

Linas T. Batya is a results-driven business development specialist with over 10 years of experience in life insurance agency management. Recently appointed as Chief Agency Officer at Jubilee Life Insurance in February 2025, he brings extensive expertise in strategic planning, team leadership, and digital transformation to his new role. Linas is adept at building strong relationships with key partners and leveraging data analysis to inform innovative strategies that drive sustainable growth and operational excellence.

With a solid background in agency management and training from previous leadership roles, Linas is well-positioned to guide Jubilee Life Insurance through its next phase of development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Development Economics and is currently pursuing a Masters in Institutional Management and Leadership. His professional development is further enhanced by industry certifications and active involvement in organizations such as the Insurance Training College of Uganda and the Rotary Club of Kampala.

Irene Bagenda

Legal Manager and Company Secretary

Irene Bagenda is the Manager Legal & Company Secretary at Jubilee Life Insurance, bringing 14 years of experience in corporate governance, legal advisory, regulatory compliance, and risk management. She holds an LLB from Makerere University and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, complemented by certifications in compliance, corporate governance, risk management, and leadership.

In her current role, Irene provides legal advisory oversight, corporate governance guidance, and regulatory compliance support, ensuring that the company operates within robust legal and ethical frameworks. She advises the Board and senior management, oversees litigation and risk mitigation, and enhances governance structures to align with industry best practices.

Previously, Irene served as a Legal & Compliance Professional at Leading Boards Africa, offering strategic legal risk management and governance solutions. At Housing Finance Bank, she excelled as the Compliance Manager and Manager Legal Services, improving regulatory ratings and strengthening compliance frameworks. Her earlier career at Orient Bank, Kasirye, Byaruhanga & Co. Advocates, Impala Legal Advocates, and Mwandha Wabwire & Co. Advocates provided her with extensive experience in litigation, contract drafting, and corporate legal matters.

Camilla Mindru

Camilla Mindru is a seasoned marketing and communications expert with over 15 years of experience in brand strategy, corporate communication, public relations, and business development. As the Manager of Marketing and Communications at Jubilee Life Insurance, she has significantly amplified brand visibility, forged strong media alliances, and spearheaded digital campaigns that effectively educate communities on the benefits of life insurance.

Previously, Camilla held key marketing roles at Equity Bank Uganda, Mac East Africa-Isuzu Uganda, and QG Group, where she led high-impact campaigns, cultivated stakeholder partnerships, and enhanced brand equity through innovative initiatives. Her robust expertise spans advertising, corporate PR, media relations, and integrated marketing strategies.

Camilla holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management from Uganda Management Institute, a Diploma in Marketing Management from the Cyprus Institute of Marketing, London, and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Makerere University. She has also completed Leadership Training at Strathmore University and is currently finalizing her master’s research in Marketing Management at Uganda Management Institute.
