Mr. Grace Jethro Kavuma

Director

Mr. Kavuma is a seasoned accountant with vast experience having worked in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, West Africa and the UK. He was appointed to the Board in 2018. He holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Makerere University and a Masters in Finance from Washington International University. Mr. Kavuma has worked in various sectors including Oil & Gas, Banking and Audit. He is also a board member in a number of institutions in Uganda. Mr. Kavuma is the Chairman of the Board Audit and Compliance Committee.

Ms. Grace Ssali

Director

Mrs. Grace Ssali Kiwanuka is Executive Director of the Uganda Healthcare Federation (UHF). UHF is an association of associations, membership umbrella body for the Uganda private health sector, championing private health sector interests through advocacy and program implementation. With over 10 years private health sector management experience, Grace Co-Chairs Uganda’s Public Private Partnerships in Health Technical Working Group, represents private sector on the Ministry of Health – Health Policy Advisory Committee, is part of the National Health Insurance Task Force and contributes to the National Quality in Health Coordination Committee.

Mrs. Shaherose Jamal

Director

Shaherose joined the Jubilee Life Insurance Company Uganda Limited Board in 2014.

She qualified as a Solicitor in U.K and has two undergraduate degrees, in Law and also in Economics and Social sciences; and she completed her Legal Practice course from College of Law, Guilford, UK in 1994. After completing her professional training, she gained extensive experience in legal practice and her areas of expertise include Litigation, Employment law and Company law.

Shaherose brings diverse international perspective and insight to her work. With her multi disciplinary background, she has advised in private and family-owned businesses across a variety of industries.

At JLICU, she chairs the Board Remuneration and Human Resource Committee and is also a member of Board Risk and Compliance Committee and Board Audit Committee. Shaherose is also a dedicated advocate for sustainability, and environment.

Shaherose is a committed volunteer and has been a member of the leadership of the Ismaili Muslim community both in Uganda and the UK for the past 28 years and has served in various Institutional and religious committees.

Mr. John Metcalf Joseph

Director

Mr. Metcalf was appointed to the Board in 2006. He has extensive international experience in the insurance industry and is currently the Head of Insurance for the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED).He is a Director on the Boards of the Company’s insurance subsidiaries. Before joining the Company, he was the Executive Chairman of the Allianz Group Insurance subsidiaries in Egypt.Mr. Metcalf is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and holds a BA (Hons) in Banking Insurance & Finance from Sheffield Hallam University. Mr. Metcalf is a member of the Board Finance Committee, Board Audit & Compliance Committee, Board Nominating & HR committee and Board IT Committee.

Mr. Varghese Thambi

Director

Mr. Varghese Thambi is a seasoned Banker with over 47 years of experience in the Banking sector, both in India and Uganda. He was the Managing Director/CEO of Diamond Trust Bank Uganda from June 2007 to June 2024. Currently, he is the Director- Advisory with Grant Thornton Uganda.

Mr. Thambi was instrumental in setting up Bancassurance business in India’s IndusInd Bank in 2006 and later in DTB Uganda in 2017. Mr Thambi is a Graduate in Physics from University of Calicut, India and Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Laws from the National University of Law, Hyderabad. He is a Hon. Fellow of the Uganda Banking & Financial Services. He is also a Board member of Financial Technologies Services Providers’ Association Uganda (FITSPA)

Ms. Mary Kansiime Nyende

Director

Dr. Kansiime Mary Nyende is the Director Professional Development at the Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial services (UIBFS) from January 2024 to date, a directorate charged with delivering the institute’s Professional Development and Training strategy. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration and Management; specializing in financial management, Master of Management, and Post Graduate Diploma in project planning & management of Uganda Management Institute, Kampala.  She also holds a Bachelors in Adult and Community Education of Makerere University.

Mary is a dynamic executive and seasoned banker with over 15 years of expertise in risk and financial management, Wealth management, investment advisory, strategy development, research, consultancy and Financial inclusion.

Prior to joining UIBFS, she worked with dfcu bank for 9 years, where she held various senior positions including Head Pinnacle Banking, Head Transactional Banking and Head of sales, and contributed to the bank’s successful business growth and retention. She also worked with Housing Finance Bank for 5years in capacity of Ag. Head Corporate Banking, senior relationship Manager, and positively impacted the Bank’s growth.

Mary is the secretary of the Uganda Leasing Association, Director TAMKA investments Ltd and a Director at Mt. Seeta Junior School. She prides herself in nurturing young talent through mentoring and is fuelled by seeing those regarded as disadvantaged excel in both their personal and professional lives.

Mr. William Sekabembe Nkemba

Director

William Sekabembe is a seasoned corporate executive with over 24 years of experience in the banking sector, specializing in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, business strategy, customer experience, channel development, risk management, and organizational redesign. Sekabembe has a proven track record of driving successful business transformations and optimizing revenue growth through strategic leadership and innovative product development.

Throughout his career, William has held key leadership positions in prominent financial institutions such as DFCU Bank, Stanbic Bank Uganda Ltd, and ABSA Uganda where he spearheaded various initiatives to enhance customer engagement, expand market presence, and drive business performance. Noteworthy achievements include leading DFCU Bank into the top 5 banks in Uganda.

Additionally, Sekabembe holds advanced degrees in Business Administration and Economic Policy and Planning from renowned institutions like the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) and Makerere University, further solidifying his expertise in strategic management and financial leadership. He is also actively involved in board memberships and professional associations, demonstrating his commitment to industry excellence and community development.

Ms. Njeri Jomo Beth

Director

Appointed in 2022, Njeri Jomo is the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer of Jubilee Health Insurance, bringing over 20 years of experience in insurance, strategy execution, and business transformation. She is a highly skilled leader in health financing, digital innovation, risk management, and distribution strategy, driving growth, operational excellence, and access to quality healthcare solutions.

She serves on the Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI) Board, the General Insurance Council, and the Strategy & Legal Affairs Committee. She is also a Board Member of Jubilee Health Insurance Uganda and Tanzania, contributing to finance, risk, and audit oversight as a member of the Board Finance & Investment Committee (BFIC), Board Audit Committee (BAC), and Board Risk & Compliance Committee (BRCC).

Njeri holds an Executive MBA from USIU Africa and Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing). She is a Fellow and Associate of the Life Management Institute (FLMI, ALMI) and holds a Diploma in Insurance, an Award in Bancassurance (CII, London), and a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in Life & General Insurance. She is a Certified Corporate Governance Professional from the Women on Boards Network (WOBN), with expertise in board leadership, governance structures, and fiduciary duties.

A recognized industry expert, Njeri is an Associate Member of the Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK) and a Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), UK.

Eugine Mutekhele

CEO and Principal Officer

Eugine Mutekhele is an accomplished finance and strategy executive with more than 15 years of experience across financial services, insurance, and consulting in Kenya, Rwanda, and the United Kingdom. He currently serves as the CEO and Principal Officer of Jubilee Life Insurance Company of Uganda LTD, following his role as Chief Finance Officer at Jubilee Health Insurance Limited in Kenya, where he contributed to financial leadership and strategic delivery.
Eugine has consistently delivered growth, performance, and strategic transformation, spearheading initiatives that strengthened capital efficiency, reduced expense ratios, and improved investment returns. He brings deep expertise in financial resilience, loss‑ratio management, and wellness‑led interventions, coupled with a proven track record in governance, process improvement, and talent development.

Previously, he served as Chief Finance Officer at Old Mutual Life Assurance and as Senior Manager at PwC, where he worked across multiple regions specializing in audit, risk assurance, valuations, and advisory services, supporting financial oversight and advisory delivery. He holds an M.Sc. in Professional Accounting from the University of London, CII Diploma in Insurance and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

Dorcus Kuhimbisa

COO Life Business

Dorcus Kuhimbisa is a dynamic insurance executive with over a decade of experience in operations, risk management, business transformation, and strategic leadership. As the Chief Operations Officer at Jubilee Life – Uganda, she plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s vision, overseeing cross-functional teams, and ensuring strict adherence to regulatory frameworks and corporate governance. Her leadership drives business process improvements, product innovation, and market expansion to unlock new growth opportunities.

Firmly believing that “excellence in insurance operations is built on precision, strategy, and a customer-centric approach,” Dorcus is a graduate of the Senior Leadership Program at Strathmore University. She possesses advanced skills in executive decision-making, strategic resource planning, and transformational leadership, with expertise spanning life insurance administration, reinsurance management, product development, digital transformation, change management, and regulatory compliance.

Previously, as Deputy Chief Operations Officer at Prudential Assurance Uganda Ltd, Dorcus played a critical role in enhancing operational efficiency, developing innovative business strategies, and creating customer-centric solutions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from Makerere University and a Diploma in Insurance from the Insurance Training College, complemented by specialized training in life underwriting, product pricing, AML compliance, reinsurance management, and supply chain management from leading industry organizations.

John Katende

Chief Distribution Officer, Medical Business

John Katende is a seasoned insurance leader with 13+ years of experience in sales, distribution, and customer engagement. As Chief Distribution Officer at Jubilee Life Insurance Uganda, he drives market growth, enhances customer experience, and delivers innovative healthcare insurance solutions.

A Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) graduate from Makerere University, John has a proven track record in achieving sales targets, building strategic partnerships, and implementing effective distribution strategies.

As a mentor, John is committed to guiding professionals in sales strategy, customer relationship management, and building impactful partnerships. Linda Byaruhanga

Chief Distribution Officer, Bancassurance

Linda Byaruhanga is a transformational leader in financial services with over 15 years of experience in bancassurance, business development, banking operations, and stakeholder management. As a visionary strategist, she has played a crucial role in building, expanding, and optimizing business channels that drive revenue growth, operational efficiency, and long-term partnerships. As the Chief of Distribution at Jubilee Life Insurance, Linda has transformed bancassurance from a startup operation into a market-leading business channel. Her leadership has been essential in structuring impactful bank partnerships, expanding revenue streams, and developing a high-performing team. Through her strategic initiatives, she successfully secured over 14 key bancassurance partnerships within three years, enhancing Jubilee Life Insurance’s competitive position in the industry.

Her expertise encompasses business planning, financial product development, strategic stakeholder engagement, and team leadership. Linda has been instrumental in designing competitive bancassurance models, structuring compensation and incentive plans, and ensuring seamless partner relationship management.

She holds a master’s degree in business administration from Liverpool John Moores University, a bachelor’s degree in Community Psychology from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management from the Uganda Management Institute, and an Award in Bancassurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute. Currently, she is pursuing a diploma in Insurance at the Insurance Training College while further enhancing her expertise in financial strategy and corporate growth.

Denis Twambale

Head of Operations, Medical Business

Denis Harris Twambale is the Head of Operations for the Medical Business at Jubilee Life Insurance, with over 11 years of experience in healthcare and insurance operations, business management, and strategic process optimization. He holds a Bachelor of Business Computing from Makerere University Business School and has completed leadership and business transformation programs, including Stanford Seed and John C. Maxwell Leadership Program.

In his current role, Denis leads the operational agenda for the medical business, driving efficiency, service excellence, and business growth. He has strengthened operational frameworks, optimized processes, and embedded data-driven improvements that enhance team performance and customer experience.

Previously, he held senior leadership roles at Citadel Holdings, UMC Victoria Hospital, and AAR Health Services, and served as a Business Management Consultant in the U.S., focusing on strategic planning, operational efficiency, and stakeholder engagement.

Camilla Mindru

Camilla Mindru is a seasoned marketing and communications expert with over 15 years of experience in brand strategy, corporate communication, public relations, and business development. As the Manager of Marketing and Communications at Jubilee Life Insurance, she has significantly amplified brand visibility, forged strong media alliances, and spearheaded digital campaigns that effectively educate communities on the benefits of life insurance.

Previously, Camilla held key marketing roles at Equity Bank Uganda, Mac East Africa-Isuzu Uganda, and QG Group, where she led high-impact campaigns, cultivated stakeholder partnerships, and enhanced brand equity through innovative initiatives. Her robust expertise spans advertising, corporate PR, media relations, and integrated marketing strategies.

Camilla holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management from Uganda Management Institute, a Diploma in Marketing Management from the Cyprus Institute of Marketing, London, and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Makerere University. Immaculate Nalubega

Manager Risk and Compliance

Immaculate Nalubega is a seasoned financial and compliance leader with 10+ years of experience across banking, insurance, telecommunications, and corporate consulting. She specializes in data protection, privacy, risk management, audit, compliance, and anti-money laundering (AML/CFT), enhancing organizational value by ensuring regulatory compliance and mitigating financial risks.

She has designed and implemented compliance frameworks, KYC programs, and governance policies, led audits, and delivered training initiatives that strengthen institutional integrity. Immaculate holds a Bachelor’s in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management from Makerere University and is pursuing an MBA at UNICAF University, Zambia, alongside her CAMS certification.

Her leadership has earned the CEO/Board Recognition Award (2024) for advancing compliance, corporate governance, and sector-wide AML improvements.

Daniel Musaazi

Human Resources Business Partner

Daniel Musaazi is a seasoned Human Resources professional with extensive experience in HR strategy, organizational development, talent management, and change management. He currently serves as Human Resources Business Partner at Jubilee Life Insurance, where he aligns HR initiatives with business objectives, drives employee engagement, and leads talent management programs. A key achievement in this role was coordinating and managing the successful amalgamation of Jubilee Health Insurance and Jubilee Life Insurance.

Previously, Daniel held senior HR leadership positions at AAR Healthcare, Movit Group, and Plan International Uganda, providing strategic guidance in workforce planning, performance management, employee development, HR policy, and organizational change. He has a proven record in building high-performing teams, fostering positive workplace culture, and implementing HR solutions that drive organizational effectiveness.

Daniel holds a master’s degree in human resource management from Makerere University Business School and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Makerere University. He has also completed professional certifications in Strategic Talent Management, Professional Coaching and Mentoring, and Leadership and Management. He is an active member of the Human Resources Managers Association of Uganda.

Keith Benjamin Seremba

Keith Benjamin Seremba is the Manager, Strategy and Project Management at Jubilee Life Insurance, with over 8 years of experience driving organizational transformation, digital innovation, and operational excellence. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Healthcare Management and certifications in Project Management and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

In his current role, Keith leads strategic and digital transformation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and business growth across Jubilee Life Insurance. He oversees the development and execution of strategic projects, manages cross-functional teams, implements technology-driven solutions, and ensures alignment with organizational priorities and long-term business objectives.

Keith has successfully led the deployment of claims management tools, digital intermediary platforms, and micro-insurance solutions that have delivered measurable operational savings, improved customer experiences, and strengthened service delivery.

Prior to this role, he served in various capacities across project management, bancassurance, underwriting, and claims administration, contributing to the successful rollout of digital platforms including J-Force, MaishaFiti, and CRM systems, while supporting product innovation and market expansion initiatives.

With expertise in digital transformation, project management, innovation strategy, and stakeholder engagement, Keith is passionate about delivering impactful solutions that drive efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and support sustainable business growth.

Irene Bagenda

Company Secretary & Legal Manager

Irene Bagenda is the Manager Legal & Company Secretary at Jubilee Life Insurance, bringing 14 years of experience in corporate governance, legal advisory, regulatory compliance, and risk management. She holds an LLB from Makerere University and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, complemented by certifications in compliance, corporate governance, risk management, and leadership.

In her current role, Irene provides legal advisory oversight, corporate governance guidance, and regulatory compliance support, ensuring that the company operates within robust legal and ethical frameworks. She advises the Board and senior management, oversees litigation and risk mitigation, and enhances governance structures to align with industry best practices.

Previously, Irene served as a Legal & Compliance Professional at Leading Boards Africa, offering strategic legal risk management and governance solutions. At Housing Finance Bank, she excelled as the Compliance Manager and Manager Legal Services, improving regulatory ratings and strengthening compliance frameworks. Her earlier career at Orient Bank, Kasirye, Byaruhanga & Co. Advocates, Impala Legal Advocates, and Mwandha Wabwire & Co. Advocates provided her with extensive experience in litigation, contract drafting, and corporate legal matters.
