Zul Abdul

Group Chairman

Mr. Abdul joined the Board in 2014 and appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Board in 2020. At JHL, he has chaired the Board Nominating and HR Committee and the Board Audit and Compliance Committee. He is the current chairman of the Life and Health insurance subsidiaries in Kenya and he has also served on the Boards of the Health insurance subsidiaries in Uganda and Tanzania. He is the Chairman of the Jubilee Allianz general insurance companies in Mauritus and Burundi. Mr. Abdul is a seasoned businessman and has served in voluntary leadership positions in various organisations.

John Metcalf

Director

Mr. Metcalf was appointed to the Board in 2006. He has extensive international experience in the insurance industry and is currently the Head of Insurance for the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED). He is a Director on the Boards of the Company’s insurance subsidiaries. Before joining the Company, he was the Executive Chairman of the Allianz Group Insurance subsidiaries in Egypt. Mr. Metcalf is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and holds a BA (Hons) in Banking Insurance & Finance from Sheffield Hallam University. Mr. Metcalf is a member of the Board Finance Committee, Board Audit & Compliance Committee, Board Nominating & HR committee and Board IT Committee.

Owen Koimburi

Director

Mr. Owen Koimburi is an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company effective 31st March 2022. Mr. Koimburi has over 40 years of experience in audit, accounting, financial management, and capacity building to Private, Government and Public, sectors. He is the founding partner of Koimburi & Associates Certified Public accountants Kenya (now Mazars Kenya LLP). His areas of specialization are Business Restructuring, Company Administration, Consulting and Assurance. He is a Fellow of ICPAK, CPS (K) and is a licensed Insolvency Practitioner.

Akbar Poonawala

Director

Mr. Poonawala was appointed to the Jubilee Holdings Limited Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the 29th August 2022. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Pivot Investment Partners, New York – USA, an investment firm focused on Growth- Equity Stage FinTech and InsureTech companies. He has extensive experience in Securities, Private Equity, Investment Advisory, and strategic relationship building across the financial services sector. He was formerly a senior operating executive in the financial sector with a demonstrated record in leading and transforming financial services businesses with experience in India, UK and USA.

Barbara S. Mulwana

Director

Barbara S. Mulwana is a highly accomplished leader with a distinguished track record across manufacturing, financial services, and corporate governance.

She is the immediate former chairman of Jubilee Health Insurance Uganda and has held notable board roles, serving as both chairman and director at leading institutions, including Hima Cement, the Uganda Manufacturers Association, Stanbic Bank (Uganda) Limited, and the Presidential CEO Forum.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Mulwana worked as an Applications Engineer at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, where she developed a strong foundation in industrial engineering and applied manufacturing solutions.

Ms. Mulwana holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and is a graduate of the Executive Development Program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. She is also committed to mentoring and supporting the advancement of women in leadership across the region.

Rosemin Bhanji

Independent Non-Executive Director

Ms. Rosemin Bhanji was appointed to the Board on 29 May 2024 and brings over 25 years of experience across legal practice, corporate governance, risk and compliance, dispute resolution, and financial services.

An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Court-Annexed Mediator at both the High Court and Court of Appeal, Kenya respectively, Rosemin is an accomplished legal and governance professional with extensive experience in legal, advisory, alternative dispute resolution, Board leadership, and strategic oversight.

Her professional excellence was also recognised in 2025 when she was named Top In-House Counsel – Private Sector by Nairobi Legal Awards.

Rosemin brings significant past and current Board and committee leadership experience. At Jubilee Holdings, she chairs the Board Nominations and Human Resources Committee , in addition to Chairing the Group Sustainability Taskforce and sits as a Member on the Board Risk and Compliance Committee.

She currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director and the Vice-Chair of The Fred Hollows Foundation Kenya, contributing to initiatives focused on eliminating avoidable blindness and advancing sustainable social impact.

Rosemin is passionate about community service and serves as a volunteer in various leadership roles in the civil society.

She holds an LL.B. from the University of Nairobi and a Certificate in International Financial Law from the University of Oxford, alongside professional certifications in Environmental Social Governance (ESG), Company Direction, and Advanced Directorship from leading institutions, including The Boardroom Africa and the Institute of Directors (Kenya).

Rosemin brings to the Board a distinctive combination of legal expertise, governance leadership, strategic judgement, and a strong commitment to ethical leadership and sustainable impact.

Director

Mr. Sagheer Mufti is a seasoned professional with over 45 years of global experience, in the banking and financial services sector, including six years at Habib Bank Limited (Pakistan) and other institutions such as Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (UAE) and CitiGroup (UK, USA, Middle East and Africa).

He brings significant expertise in enterprise management, operational excellence, digital transformation, IT, and talent management. He has successfully overseen multiple large-scale organizational transformations and led change management initiatives, driving impactful results across various institutions.

Gladys Karuri

Independent Non-Executive Director

Ms. Karuri has a distinguished career spanning over 22 years in the insurance and financial services sectors across Africa and the United Kingdom. During this period, she has held senior executive positions in leading organisations. She is currently the Chief Financial Officer of African Trade and Investment Development Insurance (Africa Multilateral). She is an Alumna of the Havard Business School Advanced Management Program 2017 (AMP 193) and Honoree of Business Insurance Women to Watch – EMEA. She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Warwick Business School, UK and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Nairobi. She is a Certified Public Accountant CPA (K} and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. The Board welcomes Ms. Karuri and looks forward to her valuable contribution.

Dr. Julius Kipngetich

Group CEO

Dr. Julius Kipng’etich is a scholar, speaker and a corporate guru. He has served in executive positions in both public and private sector organizations. He is currently the Regional CEO at Jubilee Holdings Limited.

Previously he has served as Chief Executive Officer of Uchumi Supermarkets Limited, Kenya Wildlife Service, Investment Promotion Centre (Keninvest) and also as the Chief Operating Officer of Equity Group Holdings Limited.

He has served in several boards including The Kenya Tourism Board and Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation. Previously he served as a lecturer at the University of Nairobi, School of Business and double up as the Director of Student Welfare Authority (SWA).

Juan Cazcarra

Deputy Group CEO

Juan brings over 20 years of international executive experience in the insurance industry, having held senior leadership positions including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Risk Officer across Spain, France, Serbia, Indonesia, and Kenya. His experience spans operations, finance, strategy, innovation, transformation, and organisational leadership, giving him a broad perspective across both developed and emerging markets.

Juan joined Jubilee Holdings in 2021 as Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO) and was appointed Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer (DGCEO) in April 2025. In these roles, he has provided strategic and operational leadership across the Group, overseeing Finance, Strategy, Marketing, Transformation, Customer Experience, Operations, and IT across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Burundi.

He has been instrumental in advancing operational excellence, digital transformation, and innovation across the Group, most notably through his leadership of Changamk@, Jubilee’s transformative digital agenda. Under his leadership, Changamk@ has accelerated the Group’s digital evolution, strengthened customer-centricity, and established new approaches to innovation and technology-led growth.

Juan brings to the Group deep international expertise, strategic leadership, and a strong track record of translating transformation ambitions into sustainable business outcomes, positioning Jubilee for continued growth and leadership in the region.

Mrs. Margaret Kipchumba

Group General Counsel and Company Secretary

Mrs. Kipchumba was appointed Company Secretary of Jubilee Holding Limited in 2014. She also serves in the same capacity in the insurance and fund management subsidiaries in Kenya and has oversight responsibility for the company secretarial function in the regional subsidiaries. Mrs. Kipchumba is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Certified Public Secretary and an accredited Governance Auditor. She is a Member of the Law Society of Kenya, the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya and the Institute of Directors, Kenya.

Paul Mungai

Group Chief Finance Officer

Paul is a seasoned finance executive with over 14 years of experience leading financial strategy, operations, and transformation within the insurance industry across East Africa. He currently serves as the Group Head of Finance at Jubilee Insurance, where he drives the financial direction, performance, and resilience of one of the region’s leading insurers.

Paul’s career spans multiple leadership roles, including Senior Regional Head of Finance at Jubilee Insurance and Head of Finance at Old Mutual Insurance Rwanda Plc. His work has taken him across Kenya, Rwanda, and South Sudan—enabling him to lead cross-border teams and manage complex financial operations with agility and strategic foresight.

He holds an Executive MBA from Strathmore Business School and IESE Business School, a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from Kenyatta University, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K).

Paul brings deep expertise in strategic finance, M&A, financial accounting, and analysis, and is known for championing financial excellence, integrity, and innovation within the insurance sector. His work continues to shape the financial landscape of the industry while developing high-performance finance teams equipped for sustainable growth.

David Limo

Group Chief Actuary

David is an accomplished actuary and accountant with close to 15 years of experience managing financial liabilities exceeding $1.3 billion and advising on investment mandates for over $1.5 billion in assets. A strategic thinker with a passion for financial transformation, David has led major actuarial and accounting initiatives, from balance sheet restructuring and reserve methodology shifts to the successful implementation of IFRS 17 and Market Consistent Embedded Value (MCEV) frameworks.

Beyond technical expertise, David is a dedicated mentor and leadership developer, having guided five qualified actuaries and currently supporting the development of 22 more. His career reflects a rare blend of analytical excellence and visionary leadership.

A creative at heart, David also brings storytelling and design to life, serving as a creative director on a feature film he co-wrote and running a bespoke leather handicraft business.

Julius Orayo

Group Chief Information Officer

Julius is the Group Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Jubilee Holdings, bringing over 15 years of experience in technology leadership, operations, and project management across the financial services industry.

A forward-thinking digital strategist, Julius has been instrumental in steering the Group’s digital transformation, driving innovation, streamlining operations, and embedding technology as a core enabler of business growth. Under his leadership, Jubilee has adopted future-focused systems and platforms that enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.

With a proven ability to align technology with business strategy, Julius continues to lead the evolution of Jubilee into a modern, agile, and digitally empowered organization.

Caroline Ndungu

Group Head - Marketing and Corporate Communications

Caroline is a seasoned business leader with over 20 years of experience driving sustainable performance across diverse sectors, including consumer goods, financial services, and advisory. Known for her ability to balance innovation with operational excellence, she has led high-impact teams and initiatives that deliver shared growth, build enduring stakeholder trust, and elevate customer experiences.

Caroline’s expertise spans business development, portfolio management, marketing, corporate relations, and strategic planning. She has worked with leading FMCG brands and financial institutions, playing pivotal roles in transforming culture, optimizing operations, and strengthening regulatory and community engagement.

A dynamic and visionary leader, Caroline brings a strengths-based approach to leadership—mobilizing teams with clarity and confidence, activating ideas into action, and guiding organizations through change with purpose and empathy. William Mwangi

Group Head - Risk, Compliance and Sustainability

William Magalasia Mwangi is a seasoned Risk Management & Compliance professional with over 18 years of experience across the financial services sector. He provides strategic leadership in shaping and executing enterprise-wide risk and compliance agendas.

In his current role, William is responsible for developing and overseeing robust risk governance frameworks, driving adherence to regulatory standards, and promoting a risk-conscious culture across all regions and business units within Jubilee Holdings. He brings a wealth of industry knowledge in aligning compliance processes with international best practices, and his expertise in delivering strategic risk insights underpins the Group’s commitment to operational excellence and sustainable business integrity.

With a strong background in risk management gained through years of hands-on experience in the financial services industry, William has led successful risk-based initiatives that improved operational efficiency, minimized losses, and enhanced customer satisfaction.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Business Computing from the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom. Additionally, he has earned an International Certificate in Financial Services Risk Management (FRM) and a Higher Diploma from the Institute for the Management of Information Systems (IMIS).

Jack Njuguna

Group Chief Information Security Officer

Jack is the current Head of Forensics & IT Security. In his current role at Jubilee Group, he drives the organization’s fraud & information security initiatives across the Group functions.

He is a business and technology leader with over seventeen years of experience in fraud risk management, internal controls and Information security where he held various roles at IQ Plus (k) Limited, KPMG Kenya and Uganda, Eveready East Africa Limited and Deloitte East Africa, before joining Jubilee Group in 2018. He has successfully developed and currently implementing the Information Security & Fraud Risk Management Strategies for the Group.

Jack is an Economics graduate from the University of Nairobi, a qualified CPA & CIFA. He was a finalist as the best CISO, in the 2024 awards by CIO AFRICA.

Anderson Kariuki

Regional Head of Property

Anderson leads the strategic management, development and optimization of Jubilee Holdings’ real estate portfolio across the region. With a keen eye for value, compliance and sustainability, he ensures that the Group’s property investments align with long-term business goals and modern construction standards.

He is a Registered and Licensed Quantity Surveyor with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (BORAQS) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying (Second Class Upper Division). He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Construction Project Management at the University of Nairobi. His professional affiliations include membership in the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK) and the Architectural Association of Kenya – QS Chapter.

Anderson is also advancing his expertise in sustainable design and dispute resolution through ongoing EDGE Training in Green Building and Sustainability and as a Student Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. His work reflects a strong commitment to delivering efficient, compliant and future-ready developments that support Jubilee’s regional vision.

Eugene Otieno

Head of Strategy

Eugene joined Jubilee Holdings Ltd as the Head of Strategy in 2022. He has over 9 years’ experience in strategy execution and management consultancy. Eugene is passionate about of delivering sustainable value to customers, employees, shareholders, and communities through inclusive financial solutions. Eugene holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business Administration from the United States International University (USIU).

Prior to joining Jubilee Insurance, Eugene worked with East Africa’s leading financial services firms in insurance and banking where he spearheaded initiatives that drove significant organizational change and growth, marking a profound impact within the industry.

Alex Chege

Head of Operational Excellence

Alex is a dynamic Transformation Leader with over a decade of experience spearheading enterprise-wide change, digital innovation, and operational excellence across the financial services sector in East Africa. With a proven track record of delivering multi-million-dollar initiatives, Alex bridges strategy with execution to help organizations scale sustainably, optimize performance, and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

He has led transformation programs in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Burundi, with a strong focus on insurance and banking—delivering measurable impact through cutting-edge technology, governance, and process optimization.

Among his most notable achievements is leading a $20M+ multi-country transformation program that was recognized as Project of the Year 2024 by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Kenya Chapter. The initiative encompassed AI-driven claims automation, robotic process automation, CRM deployment, cloud migration, digital channels rollout, and data governance.

Alex’s transformation leadership has driven over $4M in cost savings, doubled project ROI, elevated project management maturity from Level 1 to Level 3, and achieved a Sigma score of 4.7—all while mentoring over 200 professionals in Lean Six Sigma, project management, and business analysis.

Dennis Kevogo

Head of Data and AI

Dennis Kevogo is the Head of Enterprise Data Management and Artificial Intelligence at Jubilee Group, where he leads the organisation’s enterprise-wide data and AI transformation agenda. An accomplished AI strategist and data leader, Dennis holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Applied Artificial Intelligence and is the author of three research papers focused on emerging AI technologies.

With extensive experience delivering AI-driven transformation across multiple industries, including healthcare and supply chain, Dennis has built a strong track record of translating advanced technologies into measurable business outcomes. His expertise spans enterprise AI strategy, data governance, analytics, machine learning, digital transformation, and responsible AI implementation.

At Jubilee, Dennis is spearheading the organisation’s journey towards advanced Enterprise Data and AI maturity by establishing the strategic foundations required to scale AI responsibly across the Group. He has led the development and implementation of Jubilee’s Enterprise AI Blueprint, delivered high-impact Agentic AI solutions with demonstrable return on investment, established the Group’s AI Division, and is building a composable AI governance framework that enables innovation while ensuring robust governance, compliance, and ethical AI adoption.

Dennis is also leading the evolution of the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) function from Data 1.0 to Data 2.0, modernising data platforms, strengthening enterprise data foundations, and embedding data-driven decision-making, advanced analytics, and AI into the organisation’s core business processes. His leadership ensures that data is treated as a strategic enterprise asset that drives operational excellence, customer value, and business growth.

Recognising that successful AI adoption extends beyond technology, Dennis established Jubilee’s AI Governance Council to provide executive oversight, strategic direction, and clear decision-making for AI initiatives. He is also developing a comprehensive AI literacy and fluency programme for both the Board and employees, equipping leaders and teams with the knowledge required to understand AI, assess its business value, manage risks, and confidently lead AI-enabled transformation.

Dennis is passionate about building responsible, scalable, and business-focused AI capabilities that create sustainable competitive advantage. His vision is to position Jubilee as an AI-first organisation where data and artificial intelligence are embedded into every aspect of the business, enabling innovation, operational resilience, enhanced customer experiences, and long-term value creation across the Group.
